Mandala Mondays

Seed of Life
The "Seed of Life", is also known as "Sacred Geometry" or "Flower of Life"

Last Monday I went to CharKat's Creative Insanity for Mandala Monday, where once a month we get together to create what?  Mandalas of course!

This month we used the "Seed of Life" as our inspiration in creating these unique Mandalas.  I was not going to color mine in, but when I saw Charlotte Carpentier's, I went for it and color mine in, using watercolor pencils.

By just deleting a few lines here and there or adding a few lines here and there, you can create different designs.  Here are a couple I did doing just that:

and

So, just by adding a line here or deleting a line there you can create a multitude of designs.
Thank you Charlotte, these were so much fun!

LETTER Books

My Letter Books

A friend from my Sewing Group gave us initial crystal letters she bought when she was in Germany.

She said it was the custom on New Years, to give out chocolates in the shape of the persons initial.  We got crystal letters instead.
I knew as soon as I saw these I was going to make a book to put my initial on.

Here is my book.  It measures approximagely 6" X 4-1/2" (portrait).
This is what I used for the end papers.  I love the marble look of the paper.

One of the ladies in my sewing group liked my book, so I made her one too, using her initial.
Her book was made the same way, except it is 4" X 6" (landscape)

I really enjoyed making these books.
think they would make great guest books for weddings and such.

End Note:  I will be teaching a Basic Traditional Bookbinding class on June 21st from 9 am - 4:00 pm
should anyone is interested.   You can either message me on facebook:

SCRAP MONSTERS

SCRAP MONSTERS

It has been awhile since my last posting, but I have been busy doing this, that and the other thing.  I will be posting what I have been up to  lately and hopefully you will be  inspire as well.

Looking online one day, I came across these little characters called "Scrap Monsteres".  I became intrigue at these cute little monsters that I think are just too cute to be called monsters.  I thought I would try my hand at making one or two and before I knew it, I had a whole family of these cute little creatures.  Making these little Scrap Monsters can be addicting.

Can you spot the "One Eye, One Horn, Purple People Eater?

These were so much fun to create.
Anyone out there thinking of an activity for their children to do while they are off during the summer?  Here is a great one to keep your child occupied and have fun at the same time.  Use up all those left over scraps of paper you have laying around.  See what kind of little monsters they can create.

Here are some close-ups of some of my Scrap Monsters

Notice that I used googly eyes for some of them and on one I used these eye that were brads.

So, have fun with your little Monsters, but be ware, they can become addicting!  Mine are going to hang out on my window blinds for awhile.
